Kan dola\u015f\u0131m\u0131nda oksijen ta\u015f\u0131yan eritrositlerin de civa toksisitesinden olumsuz etkilenmeleri olas\u0131d\u0131r. Bu ara\u015ft\u0131rma da, civa toksisitesine ba\u011fl\u0131 eritrosit reolojisindeki de\u011fi\u015fiklikler ile, faydal\u0131 biyolojik etkilere sahip oldu\u011fu bilinen propolisin civa toksisitesi \u00fczerine koruyucu rol\u00fc ara\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u00c7al\u0131\u015fmada a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131klar\u0131 ortalama230 \u00b140 gr olan 4-5 ayl\u0131k erkek Wistar Albino ratlar kullan\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Her grupta 10 rat olmak \u00fczere d\u00f6rt deney grubu olu\u015fturulmu\u015ftur. Kontrol grubuna %0.9 serum fizyolojik intraperiteneal (ip); civa klor\u00fcr grubuna 4mg\/kg HgCl2 ip; propolis grubuna 200mg\/kg propolis gavaj ; HgCl2 +propolis grubuna 4mg\/kg HgCl2 ip+200mg\/kg propolis gavaj \u00fc\u00e7 g\u00fcn boyunca uygulanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Koruyucu olarak propolis, HgCl2 uygulamas\u0131ndan bir g\u00fcn \u00f6nce verilmeye ba\u015flanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r ve HgCl2 verildi\u011fi 3 g\u00fcn s\u00fcresince de propolis verilmeye devam edilmi\u015ftir. Al\u0131nan kan \u00f6rneklerinde; hematolojik parametreler [eritrosit say\u0131s\u0131, hematokrit de\u011feri, hemoglobin miktar\u0131, ortalama eritrosit vol\u00fcm de\u011feri (MCV), ortalama eritrosit hemoglobin de\u011feri (MCH), ortalama eritrosit hemoglobin konsantrasyonu (MCHC)] ile plazma potasyum d\u00fczeyleri, methemoglobin ve 2,3-DPG miktarlar\u0131, eritrosit deformabilitesi ile % hemoliz de\u011ferleri \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fclm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr. Civa toksisitesi olu\u015fturulan ratlarda kontrol grubu hayvanlara g\u00f6re hematolojik parametrelerde hafif bir art\u0131\u015f varsa da istatistiki olarak \u00f6nemli de\u011fildir. Bununla birlikte l\u00f6kosit say\u0131s\u0131 \u00f6nemli \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcde artarken, trombosit say\u0131s\u0131nda anlaml\u0131 bir d\u00fc\u015f\u00fc\u015f saptanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Civa verilen grupta serum K+, MetHb, 2,3 DPG miktarlar\u0131 ile % Hemoliz de\u011ferleri ise istatistiki olarak \u00f6nemli oranda artm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Reolojik paremetrelerden eritrosit uzama indeksleri civa toksisitesi olu\u015fturulan grupta hem d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck hem de y\u00fcksek shear stres\u2019te azalm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Sadece propolis verilen grubun verileri kontrol grubundan farkl\u0131 bulunmam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Civa toksisittesi olu\u015fturulan ve ayn\u0131 zamanda koruyucu olarak propolis verilen grupta ise; civa toksistesi olu\u015fturulan grupta g\u00f6r\u00fclen olumsuz de\u011fi\u015fikliklerin \u00f6nemli oranda veya s\u0131n\u0131rl\u0131 d\u00fczeyde \u00f6nlenmi\u015f oldu\u011fu g\u00f6r\u00fclm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr. Sonu\u00e7 olarak propolis, civa zehirlenmelerinde kan ve dola\u015f\u0131m sisteminde, \u00f6zellikle eritrositlerin mekanik ve reolojik \u00f6zelliklerinde meydana gelen bozukluklar\u0131n \u00f6nlenmesinde koruyucu olarak kullan\u0131labilir.
