Bu \u00f6nemli fonksiyonlar\u0131 nedeniyle pek \u00e7ok etken ile hasara u\u011frayabilmektedir. Karaci\u011ferde toksik etki yapan ajanlardan biri de karbon tetraklor\u00fcr (CCl4)\u2019d\u00fcr. Deneysel \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalarda pek \u00e7ok ajanla karaci\u011fer hasar\u0131 olu\u015fturulabilmesine ra\u011fmen insandaki siroz geli\u015fim s\u00fcrecine benzerlik g\u00f6sterdi\u011fi i\u00e7in, en \u00e7ok tercih edilen ve kullan\u0131lan CCl4\u2019d\u00fcr. Sunulan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmada CCl4\u2019\u00fcn karaci\u011ferde meydana getirdi\u011fi toksikasyona kar\u015f\u0131 royal jelly\u2019nin (RJ) koruyucu etkisinin ara\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131 ama\u00e7lanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. In vivo deneysel \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmada ratlar, her grupta 8 adet olmak \u00fczere 6 gruba ayr\u0131ld\u0131. Sham ve 100 mg\/kg RJ grubu hari\u00e7 t\u00fcm gruplara 20 g\u00fcn boyunca g\u00fcn a\u015f\u0131r\u0131, 0.4 CCl4+0.4 ay\u00e7i\u00e7ek ya\u011f\u0131 verilerek toksikasyon olu\u015fturuldu. Toksikasyon olu\u015fturulan gruplardan CCl4 grubuna herhangi bir tedavi verilmezken, di\u011fer 3 tedavi grubuna s\u0131ras\u0131yla 50, 100, 200 mg\/kg RJ verildi. \u00c7al\u0131\u015fma sonunda, malondialdehit (MDA) ve red\u00fckte glutatyon (GSH) d\u00fczeyleri t\u00fcm kanda; vitamin C ve sialik asit (SA) d\u00fczeyleri ise serumda analiz edildi. Elde edilen sonu\u00e7lara g\u00f6re CCl4 toksikasyonu, MDA d\u00fczeylerinde sham grubuna g\u00f6re art\u0131\u015fa sebep olurken (p&lt;0.01), RJ ile tedavi edilen gruplarda bu art\u0131\u015f\u0131n azald\u0131\u011f\u0131 g\u00f6r\u00fcld\u00fc. GSH d\u00fczeyi de yine en fazla CCl4 grubunda saptand\u0131 (p&lt;0.05). Ayr\u0131ca CCl4\u2019\u00fcn SA konsantrasyonunu artt\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131 belirlendi. CCl4 toksikasyonu serumda, vitamin C d\u00fczeyini azalt\u0131rken, RJ ile tedavinin vitamin C konsantrasyonunu artt\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131 tespit edildi (p&lt;0.01).Sonu\u00e7 olarak, CCl4 toksik etkisiyle oksidatif strese neden olurken, RJ antioksidan etkinli\u011fi ile koruyucu etki g\u00f6stermi\u015ftir. Ayr\u0131ca bu etki RJ\u2019nin konsantrasyon art\u0131\u015f\u0131na ba\u011fl\u0131 olarak artm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Oksidatif strese kar\u015f\u0131 antioksidan etki g\u00f6steren RJ\u2019nin karaci\u011fer hastal\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131n tedavisinde destekleyici olarak kullan\u0131labilece\u011fi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclmektedir.
